Job Responsibilities: Work is performed under the general supervision of the Head Golf Course Superintendent. This position requires major physical labor. The role of this position is to assist the Head Golf Course Superintendent with execution of daily golf course maintenance operations.

Job Requirements:

    • Knowledge of mowing equipment
    • An aptitude to be on time as work starts very early in the morning during the golf season.
    • Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school and extensive experience in or around the game of golf or landscaping. However, anyone willing to work diligently as a laborer and can report to work on time is preferred.
    • Possession of an appropriate driver’s license valid in the Commonwealth of Kentucky.

Job Responsibilities: Responsible for the enforcement of codes, regulations, and ordinances adopted by Madison County Fiscal Court. These include zoning, business license administration, International Property Maintenance Code, and any violations thereof.
Work is performed under the general supervision of the Planning and Codes Director. This position requires visual acuity for preparing, reviewing, checking and maintaining written and computer files and records; requires hearing sufficient to accurately perceive information at normal spoken word levels, the ability to express or exchange ideas by means of the spoken word and manual dexterity to operate standard office, data entry and word processing equipment. Job duties include, but are not limited to:

  • • Process all business license applications and annual renewals
    • Works with the Director for approval of new licenses with codes and to verify all current licenses
    • Works to find all business entities in the County and make sure they have a current business license
    • Follow up on any delinquent business licenses
    • Work with Madison County Tax Administrator to inactivate any business with delinquent taxes and enforce compliance
    • Maintains software database of businesses in the County
    • Receives and processes complaints from the public
    • Investigates complaints and maintains files on all investigations
    • Corresponds with violators and public through the resolution process
    • Files criminal complaints when needed with the County Attorney’s Office and testifies when needed
    • Performs any other duties deemed necessary by Director

Job Requirements:

  • • Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school and experience with office technology
    • Must have a valid driver’s license
    • Capable of lifting 25 pounds
    • Thorough knowledge of standard office practices, ability to enter data accurately and at a reasonable rate of speed

    • Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions
    • Ability to multi-task
    • Skill in the use of Microsoft Excel program

Position Summary: Responsible for enforcement of Kentucky Revised Statute’s 258 and Madison County Animal Control Ordinance. They may pick up canines and felines when dispatched. The Animal Control Officer shall be on call for after hour emergencies.  The Animal Control Officer shall assist with daily operations of the Madison County Animal Shelter.

Work is performed under the general supervision of the Environmental and Animal Care Director. This is heavy to light work that requires physical effort; Running, bending over, climbing, picking up animals will be done frequently; position requires visual acuity for preparing, reviewing and enforcing Animal Control Laws; requires hearing sufficient to accurately perceive information at normal spoken word levels, the ability to express or exchange ideas by means of the spoken word and manual dexterity to operate standard office, Job duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Enforcement of Animal Control Laws outlined in KRS 258 and Madison County Animal Control Ordinance, and keeping accurate records of those enforcements and paperwork.
  • Assisting with daily operations of the shelter in relation to kenneling and cleaning for animals that are housed at the Madison County Animal Shelter.
  • Assist with upfront duties of the Madison County Animal Shelter when needed or directed by the Director of Environmental and Animal Care
  • Accept and be eligible to be sworn in as a peace officer within the State of Kentucky and all requirements of that oath.
  • Oversee correctional facility workers and follow regulations and attend training established by corrections.
  • Maintain open dialogue with Director of Environmental and Animal Care and communicate departmental status on a regular basis.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Thorough knowledge of Animal Control Law and Standard Operating Procedures of the Madison County Animal Shelter; standard office practices, procedures and clerical techniques; ability to transcribe dictation with speed and accuracy; thorough knowledge of business English and grammar; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees and the general public; ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions; ability to file alphabetically; ability to multitask; and skill in the use of word and data process equipment.

Education and Experience: Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school.
Special Requirements: Possession of an appropriate driver’s license valid in the Commonwealth of Kentucky.

This position starts at $9.50 per hour.
