Madison County Conservation District

The Madison County Conservation District organized February 23, 1944. It is one of 3,000
Conservation Districts in the nation. It is made up of several board members. The District is a
subdivision of the Kentucky Department of natural resources, responsible for assisting
landowners and land users in solving soil and water resources problems; set priorities for
conservation work; and coordinate the federal, state and local resources used to conduct conservation programs.

The District board also supervises the sub-district activities of the Red Lick Creek Watershed Conservancy District.
