The purpose of the Ethics Board is to assure the confidence of the general public in the integrity of Madison County government. The Ethics Board also reviews, investigates, and determines all complaints of potential violations of the Ethics Code requirements as outlined in Chapter 9 of the Kentucky Revised Statutes. In order to acheive and maintain high ethical standards, the Board provides a formal process for filing complaints and applies the Code of Ethics to all County employees-not just elected officials in cooperating to maintain public integrity. 

The Madison County Planning Commission is comprised of seven citizens who are appointed by the Judge Executive with the approval of the Fiscal Court. The Planning Commission's functions include: preparation and adoption of the Comprehensive Plan, making recommendations to Fiscal Court on all proposed land use changes, reviewing and approving/disapproving applications for the division and development of land, and other special duties as assigned by the Judge Executive.

These volunteers are Madison County residents, who are committed to keeping Madison County a desirable place to live, work, and raise a family. Some of the most common reasons people typically like to serve on a Board/Commision is to be able to serve their community, for the learning opportunity, and to have a voice in local decision-making. In order to serve on a Board/ Commission, you must be a resident of Madison County and at least 18 years of age.
