Judge Executive's Office The Judge Executive is the elected official who serves as head of the executive branch of county government. While having no judicial power, the Judge Executive is the chair and voting member of the Fiscal Court. County Departments Madison County Detention Center, Emergency Management, Information Technology, Planning & Building and Codes, Economic Development, Fire Department, Human Resources Elected Officials Information pertaining to elected officials and term expirations.

The Detention Center is a 24 hour operation that has office hours of Monday thru Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00p.m. with a 24 hour window in the rear of the facility if you need assistance. Emergency Management/CSEPP The Emergency Management Agency (EMA) and the Chemical Stockpile Emergency Preparedness Program (CSEPP) were combined to form an all hazards organization ready to support community emergency response. Information Technology The Information Technology Department provides Information Technology Delivery Services and Geographic Information Services to approximately 650 users working in 23 Departments or Agencies located in 26 municipal buildings. Human Resources The Madison County Human Resources Department is committed to assisting the Madison County Fiscal Court in having the best trained and equiped workforce in the Commonwealth to serve the taxpayers.

The Madison County Planning and Development has adopted the building, electrical and mechanical codes that pertain to residential and commercial buildings, as well as, the International Property Maintenance Code.
The Madison County Fire Department is a combination career and volunteer department providing full fire protection from eight strategically located fire stations.
The Madison County Animal Shelter is the animal enforcement agency for Madison County. This Shelter was established in accordance with the Kentucky Revised Statute and our mission is to provide services that safeguard the public health and safety and to care for the animals in its care |
