The Madison County Finance Office is responsible for the financial reporting of the Madison County Fiscal Court. The Department is also responsible for Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, County Business Licenses, Occupational and Net Profit collections for Madison County.
Madison County Fiscal Court passes an annual budget that goes into affect on July 1 of the upcoming fiscal year. Under Kentucky Revised Statutes, the Fiscal Court only has oversight for County Government Operations (as seen the budgets below). The Sheriff and Clerk's budgets are accepted into record and filed as part of the minutes of the Fiscal Court meeting where they are presented. Other county agencies like the County Attorney, PVA, and Madison County Taxing Districts are available under the Open Records Act by request to those indvidiual agencies.
